The Murraylands is diverse not only in area but also in the range of businesses and primary production that occurs throughout the region.

Primary Production is still a key industry in the area, with approximately 10% of South Australia's food production being grown in the area.  The products grown include, olives, potatoes, onions, garlic, citrus, grapes, almonds, walnuts, wheat and barley.  It also is serviced by 2 export accredited abattoirs namely, T&R Pastoral (cattle & sheep) and Big River Pork.
