Welcome to the Murraylands
The Murraylands region is located in Eastern South Australia and covers an area of 26,650 sq kms representing 2.7% of the land mass of South Australia. The area includes the major centre of the Rural City of Murray Bridge, just 75 kms east of Adelaide, the River Murray towns of Mannum, Swan Reach, Blanchetown and Morgan (to the north of Murray Bridge), Tailem Bend and Meningie (to the south of Murray Bridge). The Region stretches out from these River Murray areas through the Mallee to the Victorian border. Other important centres in the region include; Karoonda, Lameroo, Pinnaroo, Coonalpyn, Cambrai, Truro and Tintinara.

The RDA Murraylands & Riverland has played a critical role in initiating and supporting development in the Murraylands.
The RDA Murraylands & Riverland Strategic Plan has strong links with the South Australian Government Strategic Plan and those of the five regional Councils – Rural City of Murray Bridge, Mid Murray, Karoonda East Murray, Southern Mallee and Coorong. We share a common interest in promoting sustainable development in regional South Australia.
The purpose of the RDA Murraylands & Riverland is “to facilitate sustainable business development and business education and involvement in employment skilling, jobs growth and economic development that takes into account the social and community needs of the Murraylands region.” Investment attraction is a key objective of the Board.
Through the Regional Investment Opportunities Project supported by the South Australian Government, Office of Regional Affairs, the Australian Government, Department of Transport and Regional Services and the five regional councils we have established strategies, objectives and areas for investment which will support sustainable growth in the Murraylands.
As Chairman of the RDA Murraylands & Riverland I am delighted to invite and welcome investors to participate in the long term development of this dynamic and enterprising region.

The Murraylands region is recognized as strategically important in delivering on growth targets within the economy and population of South Australia.
The diversity of the Murraylands is extreme, from the changing landscape to the various strong industry sectors. The Murraylands is an emerging economy that offers excellent value for inward investment whilst encouraging expansion of existing businesses. The opportunity to obtain well priced land with existing infrastructure continues to be an attractive proposition for investors. Overall most of the Murraylands is very accessible by road and rail with potential to have commercial airport activity located within the region.
The RIO project brings valid information to the forefront of investor enquiry. The Murraylands can accommodate large scale investment in several areas including, housing, transport and logistics, manufacturing, further value add within the food sector and tourism just to identify a few.
The tremendous climate and a multicultural community are both assets for the Murraylands. Ongoing skill development and training assure a well equipped and resourced workforce.
I encourage you to seriously consider the opportunities to invest in the Murraylands, they are very impressive. I would also suggest that the value proposition of investing in the Murraylands remains robust.
